Indian-Irish all-around player Simi Singh, who is in serious condition, will receive a liver transplant in Gurgaon

Simi Singh, an all-rounder for Ireland, is presently battling for his life in Gurgaon, Gurgram. Singh was admitted to the Medanta Hospital after experiencing acute liver failure, necessitating his hospitalisation. Notably, the cricket player is presently hospitalised to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to his dire need for a liver transplant.

Simi Singh, who was born in Mohali, moved to Ireland in search of employment prospects in the hospitality sector. Simi Singh played cricket for Punjab at the under-15 and under-17 levels. His love for cricket was rekindled when he joined the Malahide Cricket Club in Ireland. Singh, who is 37 years old, has represented Ireland in 88 matches across all forms. He has claimed 44 wickets while amassing 889 runs in ODIs and T20Is combined. The all-round player will have a liver transplant from his wife, Agamdeep Kaur, who will donate the organ. His father-in-law has been providing him with case updates.

His father-in-law Parvinder Singh informed the Times of India (TOI) that Simi “developed a strange fever that kept coming and going when he was in Dublin, Ireland, some five to six months ago.”

“He had himself checked out there, but the examinations revealed nothing significant. The doctors there stated that they would not begin treating the patient since they were unable to identify the underlying reason.He said, “We opted to get him treated in India for ‘better medical treatment’ because the process was getting delayed and his condition was declining.

Additionally, Simi Singh’s blood type—AB+, which designates him as a universal receiver—was disclosed by his father-in-law. He has also been told by the physicians that there won’t be any issues because his wife’s liver matches his own, and the procedure is anticipated to go well.

Simi is fortunately an AB+ blood type, meaning he is a universal receiver. According to the physicians, he will have no trouble matching with his wife.
