"Woh, bhi thoda sa fashion mein lag gaya tha." Basit Ali views on Ishan Kishan's removal from the national squad

Ishan Kishan, a star batter for India, has seen a wild ride this season with the national squad. Ishan Kishan, who was included in India’s 2023 ODI World Cup roster, has slipped well down the ladder and his prospects of making the team appear slimmer with each passing series.

Due to travel tiredness, the batter decided to withdraw his name halfway through the South Africa tour last year. This decision did not sit well with the BCCI management. Due to his decision, he was taken out of the picture and removed off the central contract list. It is important to note that with the retirement of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja from Twenty20 international matches, the Indian side is going through a transitional period.

Speaking of his fall from grace, veteran Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali came forth and said that Ishan Kishan’s fashion sense was to blame for his predicament.

“Ishan Kishan is now lower on the hierarchy. Basit said on his YouTube channel, “Woh bhi thoda sa fashion mein lag gaya tha (He too got into fashion a bit).”

It was right that Sri Lanka was not invited to the Champions Trophy: Basit Ali

Additionally, Basit Ali spoke up and chastised Sri Lanka for their poor performances against India in the opening two Twenty20 Internationals. It’s important to remember that Sri Lanka has been going through a difficult time because they were unable to earn a spot in the 2018 Champions Trophy.

According to Basit Ali, Sri Lanka does not deserve to be in the Champions Trophy 2025, and their poor performances have put them in this predicament.

“It was right that Sri Lanka was not invited to the Champions Trophy. They appear to be more focused on preserving friendships, which is similar to what the Pakistani team has demonstrated. In my view, the performance of their women’s squad has improved. The women’s squad in Sri Lanka should teach the men’s team how to maintain faith, according to Basit Ali.
