He gave an insight into the team’s overall mood.
The majority of the runs in the series have been scored by Travis, followed by Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. It hasn’t altered much from a really bad fixture, and we’re quite level. We realise that wasn’t how we wanted to play, but I believe the key has been to remain level and recognise that we’re a strong team,” Carey stated at a news conference prior to the game.
“Not much has changed in terms of mood. Our group is proud. Although we wanted to recover from Perth, I don’t believe that much needed to change. “The entire series has been really level, relying on players to deliver when it’s their turn,” Carey continued.
If they win or tie the Sydney match, which starts on Friday, January 3, the Australians will essentially guarantee their spot in the WTC Final in June. To keep the title, however, India will need to win the match and hope the Sri Lankans are on their side.
