Ajinkya Rahane, an Indian cricket player, has stated that he still has the desire to play for his nation. The former Test captain has been out of the picture for a while; he last played for the country in July 2023.
Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and will shortly turn 37, was certain of his level of fitness needed to represent his country.
“I would adore returning to the Indian setup. The fire, the hunger, and the yearning remain. I’m right up there in terms of fitness. I’m the kind of man that never gives up. “I want to represent my country every day when I wake up,” Rahane said on an episode of Star Sports’ Press Room.
Don’t discuss it much: Ajinkya Rahane
Regarding working hard throughout the off-season, Ajinkya Rahane provided insight into his regimen. He also discussed his role as a hitter for KKR and the IPL in general.
“I train two or three times a day during the off-season. In terms of my skills, I have been practicing for a long time. The key is fitness, which I’m concentrating on improving along with my nutrition. I don’t discuss it much. Over the past two to three years, you have witnessed me playing at a variety of strike rates. I too had a pretty strong strike-rate when I first started here. Then, when our batters were having trouble scoring runs, I had to adjust,” Ajinkya Rahane continued.
Leading India to a historic victory over Australia in the 2020–21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy was one of Ajinkya Rahane greatest accomplishments with the country. In addition to his leadership, he played a crucial role with the bat. Rahane last played for the Indian ODI and T20I teams in 2016 and 2018, respectively, for those who are unaware. Regarding KKR, Rahane’s season as captain has been uneventful.
