Ajinkya Naik Continues as MCA President, Awhad Becomes Deputy

It was evident from the results of the most recent Mumbai Cricket Association Elections that Ajinkya Naik had been re-elected as the organization’s president after a majority of votes had gone in favour of his faction. During the council meeting, Ajinkya Naik was notably chosen unanimously. However, the MCA had to hold a vote after Ashish Shelar’s panel objected, and Naik’s panel received 12 votes while Shelar received just 4.

Naveen Shetty lost to Jitendra Awhad, who had run for vice president, in the election of Ajinkya Naik deputy for the upcoming term. He was chosen as the vice president, 48 votes ahead of Shetty. By a resounding 98 votes, Unmesh Khanvilkar defeated challenger Shah Alam Sheikh to become the association’s next secretary.

“All of the cricket players, both male and female, as well as our Maidan clubs and secretaries, have won. The whole Mumbai Cricket family is proud of this victory! The Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Ji and Sharad Pawar Ji’s strong backing made this achievement possible.

With sincere gratitude to Ashish Ji Shelar for his ongoing support and direction,” Ajinkya Naik shared his joy on his official ‘X’ handle.
