The current ODI series pits Ireland Women against India Women. The first ODI at Rajkot was won by India by a margin of six wickets. One cricketer, Aimee Maguire, stood up when Ireland walked out to defend the 239-run target. India found an easy chase, albeit a little sloppy at one point, as the left-arm spinner claimed three wickets.
Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, and Pratika Rawal were all vitally removed by the 18-year-old. She threw up 57 runs in eight overs while bowling one maiden. After the Rajkot ODI, however, the young bowler was reported for a questionable bowling action. After the report, she has 14 days to have her action tested at a testing facility authorised by the ICC. She can, however, keep bowling until the test results are released.
Cricket Ireland’s director of high performance, Graeme West, stated, “The players and staff are supporting Aimee, telling her that she will come back stronger and will continue to shine on the international stage for many years to come.”

Notably, in 2023, at the age of 17, Aimee made her debut on the worldwide scene. Nine T20Is and eleven ODIs have been played by her. To date, she has taken 25 wickets in both forms. When she scored 5/19 in an ODI against England last year, she made headlines. On January 12, Ireland will take on India in the second One-Day International at the same location.
