According to multiple sources, South African players will join their respective IPL teams after the league begins. The Proteas will face the Netherlands in two one-day internationals.
However, nearly nine members of the ODI squad are expected to miss the opening games of the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be the franchise most influenced by the appointment of Aiden Markram as their new captain.

South Africa’s direct qualification for the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India is in jeopardy, citing ESPN Cricinfo.
