After the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed a 15-member squad to play England in the first Test of a three-match series, which begins on Monday, October 7 at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Ahmed Shehzad did not hold back in his criticism of the selectors.
The former opener for Pakistan took a savage swipe at the selection committee for failing to include two players in the squad: Mohammad Ali and Kamran Ghulam. Ghulam was included in the Pakistani team for the Test match against Bangladesh. He was denied the opportunity to make his debut, though. Once again, the left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder went unnoticed.
Ahmed Shehzad attacked the selectors and suggested that their prejudice may have affected their choice.
In addition, he was confused to learn that pacer Mohammed Ali was left out of the squad despite rumours of Aamer Jamal and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s injuries.
“Kamran Ghulam has been disregarded once more. I don’t understand why Aamer Jamal isn’t totally fit and why Khurram Shahzad is injured. Afridi Shah Shah is also not entirely well. You haven’t included Mohammed Ali even then. In a video posted on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account, Shahzad chastised the Pakistan selectors, saying, “I am not able to understand what their options are in this.”
“How are you going to defend leaving out Kamran and Sahibzada Farhan from the team? What transgression did they make? Is it because they bat where Babar bats, or something else? During Yousuf’s tenure as coach, he concentrated solely on two or three players. This is the team that Yousuf, the selector, is choosing. Please explain the reasoning behind Kamran Ghulam’s exclusion. Shehzad continued.
Pakistan seeks atonement following humiliating series loss to Bangladesh.
Bangladesh recently defeated Shan Masood and Co. 2-0 at home in a two-match Test series. Bangladesh had never defeated Pakistan in the longest format of the game prior to this series. But Najmul Hossain Shanto’s team outperformed the opposition in every aspect of the match to secure a crucial series victory.

Following the sad outcome, Pakistan is mired at No. 8 in the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings. The players are receiving a lot of criticism, so it’s time for them to pull together and offer their supporters something to rejoice about.
