Ahmed Shehzad considers Gary Kirsten's purported team conversation to be "not shocking at all."

After Pakistan’s cricket team was eliminated early from the ninth T20 World Cup, there was a great deal of upheaval in the community due to a rush of rumours and statements. The most recent concerns the purported comments made by head coach Gary Kirsten regarding the lack of unity in the squad structure. The team’s collective on-field efforts, which finally resulted in the end of their disastrous 20-team tournament campaign, appear to have disappointed the newly hired coach.

The argument has now included former Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad, who seems to concur with Gary’s purported comments on Babar Azam and company. The cricketer expressed his thoughts on social media platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter. He claimed that grouping is an issue in the Pakistani dressing room and that the only way to address it is to take drastic measures that will work.

It is not at all shocking if Gary Kirsten’s team chat is accurate. This is what we have been saying the entire World Cup. Crackdown is the only choice because this team is afflicted with grouping and it’s time for responsibility. The implicated players ought to face consequences and serve as an exemplar for the upcoming cricketing generation. The PCB chairman needs to be aware,” wrote Shehzad.

Ahmed Shehzad, who played in several formats for the national team for about ten years, has been at the forefront of locker room disputes. He made it clear that he and many others have always argued that the only way to truly prioritise accountability inside a team already divided by different factions is to completely rebuild the Pakistani unit as a whole.
