India's comeback after three years feels like a rebirth. Varun Chakravarthy

During his maiden Twenty20 international match back in the Indian team after three years away, Varun Chakravarthy expressed his emotions after bowling a brilliant stint. The match took place on Sunday, October 6 at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.

Bangladesh was bowled out for 127 in the first innings thanks to three wickets taken by Chakravarthy, who played in his first match for India since 2021. He also gave up 31 runs in his four overs. India, in response, dominated the chase and easily won with seven wickets and 8.1 overs remaining.

Chakravarthy stated that it was an emotional time for him to play for India again after three years after the team’s resounding victory. According to the mystery spinner, the return “feels like a rebirth”.

“That was definitely emotional for me after three long years.” It is pleasant to return to the Blues. It is akin to a fresh start. In a post-match interview with Jio Cinema, Chakravarthy stated, “I just want to stick to the process; that’s what I have been following in the IPL as well.”

The 33-year-old cricket player stated that he is more concerned with performing well now than he is with potential future outcomes.

“I want to stay within that bounds. All I want is to remain in this moment. I participated in a few competitions following the IPL, including the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). It’s a top-notch competition with excellent standards, according to Chakravarthy.

I had great success working with Ashwin bhai during TNPL: Varun Chakravarthy

In the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024, Chakravarthy captained the Dindigul Dragons under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin. With 12 wickets at 19.83 in 10 matches, Chakravarthy had a significant impact as the Dragons went on to win the title. Bowling with Ashwin, according to Chakravarthy, improved his bowling.

“I found that working with Ashwin bhai throughout TNPL was quite beneficial. I was more confident in this situation because we also won the championship. It was a useful warm-up for this season of television,” Chakravarthy said.

According to Chakravarthy, he persisted during his absence from the national squad and eventually succeeded in returning. The Bidar native did, however, clarify that his main goal was to continue to be considered for a berth in the Indian squad.

“People tend to write you off pretty readily once you’re not on the Indian side. You must continue to pound on doors while maintaining the highest standard. Luckily, that did occur this time. I’m hoping to keep up my fantastic work,” Chakravarthy remarked.
