India D was bowled out for 183 runs after the Mayank Agarwal-led team scored 290 runs in the opening half. With the bat, Devdutt Padikkal performed admirably, scoring 92 runs, but the opposition provided very little assistance.
India A’s hitters gained control of the game in the second innings and denied the team captained by Shreyas Iyer any chance to win. Shashwat Rawat scored 64*, while openers Pratham Singh and Tilak Varma scored 122 and 111*, respectively. India A eventually gave up on 380 runs and declared their innings, leaving the D side with a huge total to chase.
In the game’s third over, India D lost the wicket of Atharva Taide, but Yash Dubey and Ricky Bhui formed a crucial alliance. Even though Bhui scored a century later, India D lost because the Indian A spinners dominated the last innings. India D captain Shreyas said after the loss that although they were in the game in the first innings, their inability to deal with spin cost them the match. He also praised the India A hitters for their outstanding play and expressed his hope that they would improve even more in the tournament’s last league game.
