Afghanistan's captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, of playing against New Zealand in Greater Noida: "Honor to play here."

On September 9, Afghanistan and New Zealand will play a historic one-off Test match at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain of Afghanistan, expressed his enthusiasm for the forthcoming game.

“Playing in Greater Noida and taking part in this historic occasion for the city is an honour. Shahidi was reported by TOI as stating, “We look forward to our days in the city with a lot of love from cricket fans who we know are here in plenty.”

The Afghan team is accustomed to the terrain having trained here previously. It’s interesting to note that over 10,000 people are anticipated for the event, and he is confident that his team will win.

Hashmatullah Shahidi expressed his excitement at seeing Indian supporters applauding the team.

“We have trained here in the past, and it is an honour to perform in front of these stands in the city once more. We sincerely hope that the large number of Indian fans we genuinely look forward to seeing will arrive. We are excited to represent our country with pride and glory throughout this match, especially in front of such ardent supporters,” he continued.
