In the third ODI between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, England’s spinner Adil Rashid showed class by dismissing star all-rounder Hardik Pandya immediately after he was struck for two consecutive sixes.
The Baroda native chose to challenge Rashid in his last over of the day, hitting consecutive sixes. The first six was hammered by Pandya over deep extra cover for a 98-meter hit after a tossed-up ball outside off. Rashid changed his line to leg-stump on the subsequent ball, but Pandya moved out once again, giving him space to loft it over long-off for a second six.
But Rashid’s leg-spinner’s dream delivery in the last ball of his over tricked the right-hander in midair by drifting in the direction of the leg stump and then turning sharply past his outside edge to crash into the top of the off-stump. After scoring 17 off just nine balls, Pandya left the field, ending his brief inning.

Adil Rashid gets four
The visitors won the toss and put the hosts in bat for the third ODI of the series. After losing captain Rohit Sharma in the second over, the Men in Blue had a dismal start to the batting. However, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli’s strong 116-run partnership kept things stable.
Gill scored his eighth ODI century before losing to Rashid, and Kohli was also defeated by the English leg-spinner following a brilliant fifty. Then, with Shreyas Iyer batting at 78, the 36-year-old took his wicket.
As the third and final match of the series approaches, India has an insurmountable 2-0 advantage.
