Adam Zampa, the captain of the Melbourne Stars, wants a trade to the crosstown rival Melbourne Renegades.

The Big Bash League (BBL) team’s captain, Adam Zampa, has asked to be traded to the Melbourne Renegades, a cross-town rival, for the upcoming season. The 30-year-old spinner captained the Stars during a fairly forgettable season in which the team finished the year last on the points standings with only three victories in its 14 BBL 12 games.

Adam Zampa has asked to play for Melbourne’s red team in the upcoming season after a miserable season.

The spinner’s deal, it is known, keeps him with the team through the 14th season of the premier league. In addition, no transactions can be formally processed during the BBL final due to a contracting embargo put in place by Cricket Australia (CA).

Despite this, the cross-town rivals have communicated in a “non-binding” manner, which may result in Adam Zampa joining the Renegades and Sam Harper donning Stars garb. However, this move won’t be feasible until the 2019–20 trade window starts.

The Stars’ general manager, Blair Crouch, stated that a trade was a possibility and said that once the market reopened, the team might also target a number of “elite players.”

The official statement from Blair Crouch on the Melbourne Stars’ website read, “This transaction would allow us to target numerous other quality players, and we look forward to making a number of announcements regarding new signings once the contracting window re-opens.”

Melbourne Renegades sign Aaron Finch to a new contract.

Aaron Finch, meanwhile, has decided to extend his stay with the BBL team after enjoying a fantastic tournament with the Renegades this season. Finch has signed to a new two-year contract that will keep him playing through the league’s 14th season.

The 36-year-old ended his international career on Monday, February 6, after 254 appearances in all three forms, during which he amassed 19 centuries. He scored 428 runs in the BBL this season, including four half-centuries, and came in fourth on the list of the top run scorers.
