Former cricketer Michael Vaughan poked fun at Virat Kohli after senior England batsman Joe Root scored two hundred against Sri Lanka in the second Test at Lord’s. Root scored his 34th Test century during the match, and he now has five more than Kohli. Vaughan brought this out on Twitter (now X), and the post quickly gained popularity on social media.
After the second Test, Adam Gilchrist, a former cricket player for Australia, also weighed in on the Kohli-Root argument. When asked to choose between the two, the wicket-keeper batsman found it simple to go with Kohli in Twenty20 and One-Day International cricket, but he pointed out that Root had the upper hand in recent years in Test cricket.
