India A team for ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 announced

The India A team has been selected by the Men’s Selection Committee for the forthcoming ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, which will take place in Muscat, Oman, from October 18–27, 2024.

Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong A, and Sri Lanka A make up Group A, while India A is grouped alongside Oman, Pakistan A, and the United Arab Emirates in Group B. On October 19, 2024, India A will play Pakistan A at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat to start the season.

There are fifteen names on the A squad, and most of them are occupied with the first round of the Ranji Trophy 2024–25. In order to play for the Emerging side in the competition beginning on October 19, all of the announced names will need to leave their state teams for the second and third rounds.

Hyderabad left-hander Tilak Varma will lead the team, with Punjab all-rounder Abhishek Sharma serving as his deputy. Due to their respective experiences playing for the senior squad, they both increase awareness of international cricket. Prabhsimran Singh and Anuj Rawat will be in charge of keeping wickets, and Vaibhav Arora and Rahul Chahar are two of the top bowlers selected for the continental competition.

On Saturday, October 19, at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat, India A will play Pakistan A in the opening match of their tournament.

The 20-over competition will really be held at the same location for all of the matches. On October 21 and 23, respectively, the Men in Blue will play the UAE and their hosts, Oman.
