AFG vs BAN 2024: ACB confirms schedule for three-match ODI series

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed on Sunday, September 29 via their official website that Afghanistan will host Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series in November 2024. The locations for all of the matches have not yet been decided, but according to the schedule, they will all take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The two nations agreed to go with the 50-over leg only, keeping in mind the impending Champions Trophy 2025, despite the fact that they were also interested in playing three T20Is and two Test matches in addition to the ODIs.

According to the rearranged schedule, the first ODI of the series will take place on November 06, and the second on November 9. The trip will come to an end on November 11 with the third encounter.

Afghanistan vs Bangladesh ODI series 2024 Schedule:
Date Match Venue
November 06, 2024 1st ODI UAE (Exact venue to be finalized)
November 09, 2024 2nd ODI UAE (Exact venue to be finalized)
November 11, 2024 3rd ODI UAE (Exact venue to be finalized)
Afghanistan’s (ACB) remarkable recent transformation

Now that Afghanistan is a formidable opponent in 2024, teams are preparing for the Asian country in a different way. First, the team advanced to the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinals, where they faced South Africa in their first-ever knockout game in an ICC competition. But lately, the Proteas were hosted by the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led team in Sharjah for three 50-over matches.

Unexpectedly surpassing everyone’s predictions, the hosts went on to defeat South Africa 2-1, adding a significant chapter to their nascent international history.

Returning to their schedule for the future, Zimbabwe has invited Afghanistan to an all-format trip in December 2024. This series will be crucial for improving their performance in advance of major events.
