In the current Asia Cup Super Fours match versus Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan’s leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has had an outstanding performance. He dismissed Wanindu Hasaranga with a googly before imitating the all-rounder’s signature celebration.
After Pakistan won the toss, Sri Lanka was put in to bat first, but their innings never really got going. The team lost wickets frequently even though they got off to a fast start. Within the first three overs, Shaheen Shah Afridi got rid of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. Haris Rauf ended Kusal Perera’s brief appearance, and Sri Lanka took five wickets under 60 runs thanks to a double strike from Hussain Talat in the seventh over, which saw him eliminate skipper Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka in quick succession.
Hasaranga provided some assistance as Kamindu Mendis attempted to settle the innings. But Ahmed ended their 22-run partnership. Abrar hit a googly on a longer length outside off in the thirteenth over. The ball smashed into the stumps after Hasaranga misjudged the variation entirely while attempting to sweep across the line. The well-known cellphone-style celebration in Sri Lanka was performed by Abrar as Hasaranga turned to leave after scoring 15 off 13 balls.

The score for Sri Lanka was 97/6 at the end of the 16th over. Abrar, who by then had completed his allotted four overs, conceded only eight runs and claimed a single wicket. Kamindu Mendis and Chamika Karunaratne are at the crease right now, trying to raise their score to a manageable amount.
In the second innings, Wanindu Hasaranga, an all-rounder for Sri Lanka, got his sweet retribution on Abrar Ahmed. The event happened when Maheesh Theekshana was mishit by Fakhar Zaman, who was trying to lead the innings. During mid-off, Hasaranga made a one-handed catch after diving low to his right. In addition to sending Zaman reeling for 17, the beauty also caught Hasaranga cheekily mimicking Ahmed’s trademark head-nod.

When Hasaranga himself bowled in the very next over, he produced a gem that dismissed Saim Ayub with a googly. Staring towards the Pakistani dugout, Hasaranga repeated the Abrar celebration once more.
Abrar was grinning while he sat at the dugout.
