Abrar Ahmed is expected to miss the opening Test due to leg soreness for Australia over Pakistan.

The opening test of the three-match series against Australia, which begins on December 14, is most likely out of the question for Abrar Ahmed. On December 8, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) acknowledged the development.

His right leg is hurting a little; therefore, he won’t be taking the first exam. Since Pakistan is searching for other options, Abrar Ahmed availability for the first Test is uncertain due to the present unclear nature of his ailment, and it is possible that he would miss the entire series.

On Day 3 of Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s XI warm-up match in Canberra, Abrar Ahmed left the field.

In 27 overs, he gave up 80 runs while taking one wicket. Even if there are no significant injuries to the bowler, he will still get an MRI on Saturday, December 9. His participation in the first test, which begins on December 14, is uncertain, but there is no clear schedule for his recovery.

The only other specialist spin option available to Pakistan if he is really ruled out is Noman Ali. Pakistan is predicted to go for a full-pace attack or choose Noman as their lone spinner because of their limited alternatives in the spin department and the pace-friendly Optus Stadium Perth surface.

Pakistan aims to improve following a disappointing World Cup.

Pakistan will be eager to play well as the Test series draws near, as they know they will face a formidable opposition on Australian soil.

After performing below expectations in the recently ended ODI World Cup 2023, where they placed in fifth place and were unable to advance to the competition’s knockout rounds, the team will be entering the series. It will be intriguing to see how things unfold for Pakistan in the first Test against Australia, though, when Shan Masood takes over as captain of the team.
