PAK vs ENG 2024: Abrar Ahmed hospitalized after falling ill during Multan Test

Abrar Ahmed, the leg-spinner for Pakistan who bowled 31 of his 35 overs during a tiring Day 3 for his country, did not play with the team on Thursday. He had undergone a series of tests, according to an official statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and more information will be released as soon as the team had the results.

According to a source, Abrar complained of having a high fever and a sore body the morning of the play’s fourth day.

The team headed by Shan Masood Noman Ali and Zahid Mahmood were included in Pakistan’s squad for the current Test match, however they were released before play started.

It was an innings to forget for Abrar, as he was the only front-line bowler to be without a wicket during England’s first innings, which lasted for 150 overs after they declared on a massive 823/7 after Joe Root and Harry Brook broke numerous records in the middle.

Abrar was mainly ineffectual on a subdued surface this time around, following on his stellar debut in 2022 when he grabbed 11 wickets in the match against the same opponents at the same location. In order to control the flow of runs, he was forced to bowl a negative line outside the leg-stump throughout the most of the third day.

Abrar Ahmed protracted struggle with wounds

Despite all of his talent and potential, the 26-year-old has not always had a harmonious relationship with his inner workings.

After making his Pakistan Super League debut at the age of eighteen with Peshawar Zalmi, he missed several years of action due to a recurrent back problem.

Prior to Pakistan’s three-Test series against Australia, he also suffered a pinched nerve in his leg during a tour match, which forced him to miss them all.
