The Punjab batsman hit six fours and five sixes. He was on track to score the first Asia Cup century after reaching 75 in 11 overs. He was dismissed in the 12th over by Rishad Hossain’s excellent backward point fielding.
Mustafizur Rahman’s first delivery of the 12th over was sliced left of backward point by Suryakumar Yadav. Rishad planned ahead and dove to block a boundary. He controlled the ball on his first attempt and threw it to the non-striker. Mustafizur returned in time to run out Abhishek, who failed to return to his crease after his skipper sent him back.
