Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson might regret wasting on their chances: Aakash Chopra

In the first two Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh, openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson struggled miserably. Samson scored 29 and 10 runs, while Abhishek scored 16 and 15 runs, respectively. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad had an ideal chance to impress the team management and selectors and guarantee their place in the Twenty20 International team because they weren’t participating.

Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player, noted that they haven’t succeeded thus far in his analysis of the match. He pointed out that because opportunities won’t come by easily, their performance could work against them. After a terrible series against Bangladesh, the 46-year-old is also unsure if the two will be selected for the forthcoming South Africa series.

“One is Abhishek Sharma, and there’s Sanju Samson as well.

It’s a blunt reminder that you haven’t made much of a difference in the last two knocks. In a video posted to his YouTube account, Chopra stated, “You have permission to play long knocks.”

“Who knows, Yashasvi, Shubman, and Ruturaj might be available when the South Africa tour comes around, and Sanju and Abhishek are opening. All of a sudden, five of your openers won’t play. After a while, Ishan Kishan might also knock on the door. You might regret missing your opportunities when you find yourself in that circumstance,” he continued.

If a large score is possible, let’s not undervalue our accomplishments: Aakash Chopra

The New Delhi surface initially caused problems for the batsmen, but it improved following the powerplay. Chopra emphasized that the players shouldn’t try to strike right away because they can deal a lot of harm when the game is settled.

“These two games are over. You’ll have to allow yourself some extra time. In my opinion, let’s not undervalue ourselves if a significant score can be achieved. You get to open and you have the full 20 overs, so this is also true for Abhishek and Sanju Samson,” he stated.
