Regarding his son Abhimanyu Easwaran‘s selection for India’s Test series against England beginning next month, Ranganathan Easwaran spoke candidly. Ranganathan asserted that because his kid hasn’t participated in the IPL, his lack of exposure has caused his international debut to be postponed. He thought it went against him since Easwaran wasn’t playing with flamboyance.
Ranganthan pointed out that in 101 first-class games, his kid has amassed 7674 runs at an average of 48.87. He believed that Easwaran should have received an India debut before other players in the team because of his steady performances for India A versus A sides like Australia’s, the West Indies’, New Zealand’s, and England’s.
“If Abhimanyu had been given the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities in the IPL, he would have made his debut for Team India long ago. In an interview with The Times of India, Ranganathan stated that the competition has a significant impact because of its increased prominence.
“After hitting hundreds, Abhimanyu doesn’t go around the pitch like a showy player.
He is harmed by these things. With 7,674 runs at an average of 48.87 in 101 first-class games, Abhimanyu has proven to be a reliable player. He stands out from the other candidates due to his expertise in a variety of environments in New Zealand, Australia, England, and the West Indies,” Ranganathan continued.
Abhimanyu gets up early and practices hard, confronting pacers, according to Ranganathan. He attested that in order to get ready for situations abroad, his son practices on a green wicket with red soil. Additionally, he verified that the young batsman has been getting ready for the Test series against England by training against spinners.
“Abhimanyu faces pacers for hours after waking up at 5:30 AM. Since the bounce helps him get ready for English conditions, we have a green wicket with red soil. In preparation for facing spinners on the fourth or fifth day, Abhimanyu is also undergoing specific training. Ranganathan stated, “He is learning how to handle every situation by studying every bowler in the English setup.”
