Aaron Jones of the USA was instrumental in the Royal Champs’ seven-wicket victory over the Northern Warriors at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, marking their first victory of the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10.
The triumph comes after a string of narrow defeats, and Aaron Jones full-bodied effort demonstrated why he has grown to be such an important member of the team and the nation.
“It feels amazing to finally obtain that first victory. We have played close games, but this was a full-on performance; the bowling, batting, and fielding all came together perfectly.
Aaron Jones commended the Royal Champs setup for allowing players to flourish, attributing the team’s success to the management’s strategy.
“The Royal Champs’ administration has been exceptional—truly top-notch. They have ensured that we have all we need to perform since the beginning. You naturally want to perform well for the team when you feel appreciated as a player.
Aaron Jones kept highlighting the franchise’s all-encompassing strategy.
“They truly care about the players as individuals; it’s not just about cricket here. Everyone performs at their best in such an atmosphere. There isn’t a better franchise I could have joined.
In addition, Aaron Jones has benefited much from the experience of playing with veterans at the ADT10. The thirty-one-year-old said,
It has been really great for me to share the changing room with players like Jason Roy, Isuru Udana, and Shakib Al Hassan. Coaching books cannot teach you about their professionalism, their ability to read conditions, or how they manage pressure. They’ve been excellent in assisting me in changing and getting better.”
Aaron Jones feels confident about his team’s chances as the USA prepares for the next T20 World Cup.
“These are the times you dream about when you’re playing against India and Pakistan. Although everyone is aware that they are elite teams, T20 cricket is unpredictable. Pakistan has already been defeated by us. We sincerely think we can go to the next round; we’re not here to falsify the numbers.”
“It’s okay when people undervalue us. However, rankings aren’t always important in T20s. It concerns who is put to death on that day. We have the belief and the firepower to inflict some serious disruptions.
He remarked on his stay in the UAE capital:
“I adore playing cricket here in Abu Dhabi. A professional cricket player can perform at their peak thanks to the top-notch facilities available. However, it goes beyond the infrastructure of cricket. The atmosphere of the city itself is amazing. World-class athletic facilities and incredible off-field experiences come together in the ideal way.
Jones offered his thoughts on Abu Dhabi’s expanding appeal as a cricket destination.
“Abu Dhabi is becoming recognised as a legitimate sports destination. You want to return and play here again and again because of everything about it, whether it’s the stadiums, the fields, or the general vibe.”
