Aaron Finch believes that getting Jasprit Bumrah back is crucial for India's ODI World Cup run.

Aaron Finch, a former Australian captain, believes that the loss of Jasprit Bumrah will prevent Team India from meeting expectations at the 2018 ODI World Cup. In October of this year, India will host the 50-over World Cup.

Aaron Finch stated in an interview with The Times of India that Bumrah’s return is essential for India, since the 29-year-old fast bowler is the finest in the world. Bumrah has not played competitive cricket since September 2022 because to a back injury he sustained in July. Notably, he will also miss the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the World Test Championship (WTC) final due to his recurrent injuries.

“I believe Jasprit Bumra’s return is crucial for India. He is the best in the world when he is operating at full capacity.

Hence, if he is unavailable, there will likely be a void in our capacity to take wickets because he is so dangerous,” Aaron Finch said.

The Australian added that the remainder of India’s players can be aggressive if their opening combination is correct, and that the current Indian team is not weak.

“But, if the Indian opening combination establishes a solid foundation, the rest of the squad can be aggressive. With Hardik and Sky in the middle tier, there is power in the middle tier. The Indian team has relatively few flaws. They have excellent spin options and excellent pace bowlers. The World Cup will come down to execution on a particular day, according to the 36-year-old.

Aaron Finch went on to claim that all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will be the best player in the ODI World Cup, citing his batting and bowling prowess. He also suggested that the Australian starting combo of David Warner and Travis Head will be a significant factor.

“Because of his ability to bat, bowl, and field, Glenn Maxwell will be a major contributor. His adaptability is vital to the success of the Australian team. I believe the batting combination of David Warner and Travis Head will be a major factor. If they establish a solid foundation, the middle order and lower order can do a great deal,” remarked Finch.
