Aamer Jamal makes a comical attempt to bowl without a ball on Day 2 of Australia against Pakistan.

Rain ruined Day 2 of the third Test between Australia and Pakistan, which was being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Only 46 overs were bowled throughout the day. With Marnus Labuschagne (23*) and Steven Smith (6*) at the crease, Australia concluded the day with a score of 116/2. Aamer Jamal, a seamer for Pakistan, ran in to deliver without a ball in his hand during the meager cricket action that took place on Day 2.

The incident happened as Aamer Jamal raced in to give Labuschagne his first delivery in the 46th over of Australia’s batting.

But in the middle of his run-up, the fast bowler paused and revealed to the batsman that he had no ball in his hand by showing both palms.

Commentators Michael Vaughan and Wasim Akram burst out laughing after witnessing the event; Vaughan even implied that Jamal ought to have bowled all the way.

Notably, Aamer Jamal helped his team reach 313 from 220/7 with a heroic performance of 82 (97), which included nine fours and four sixes, saving Pakistan’s first inning. Additionally, he was able to dismiss Usman Khawaja, who was playing well, for 47.

Being the second-highest wicket taker in the series thus far with 13 wickets from five innings at an average of 23.30, the 27-year-old has been Pakistan’s discovery of the match. On his Test debut in Perth, he bowled his best at a score of 6/111.

David Warner was dropped after just 34 tests.

Returning to the contest, Australia started their innings on Day 2 at 6/0 as David Warner carried on with his knock from the previous Test. Agha Salman removed the southpaw, getting him caught at first slip for 34. In his last game, the home crowd cheered the opening hitter as he made his way back to the pavilion.
