Aakash Chopra hails Suryakumar Yadav’s game-changing batting style

Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricket player, praised Suryakumar Yadav for his outstanding stroke play during the opening Twenty20 International match against Australia. He described how the Indian captain practically played with the bowlers. Chopra noted that because of Suryakumar Yadav unconventional shot selection, bowlers frequently have to alter their strategies just to fall victim to his trap.

Rain caused the opening Twenty20 International between Australia and India in Canberra on Wednesday, October 29, to terminate without a result. Suryakumar Yadav was undefeated at 39 off 24 deliveries as India reached 97/1 in 9.4 overs prior to the end of play. Chopra examined how Suryakumar Yadav usually dominated the fine leg and midwicket, where he scored the majority of his runs.

“The story gets easier when the runs arrive in that area. This shot gets more effective, to be fair, depending on the type of pitch this was or the Australian pitches will be. After he makes one shot, the bowler makes a mistake about where to bowl next or that he needs to do something else.

You then fall into a trap where Suryakumar Yadav Yadav smashes you hard,” Chopra stated on Star Sports.

Chopra highlighted the exceptional consistency of Suryakumar Yadav skill set by praising the top-order batsman for using unconventional strokes. The Indian captain displayed his skill during the short innings, hitting two sixes and three fours in his undefeated effort. He made it clear early on as he hit Josh Hazlewood for a six off the fourth ball he came into contact with. Subsequently, he sent Nathan Ellis over the boundary for another maximum off what turned out to be the game’s penultimate ball, capping up the innings.

“This is only expected to be the beginning. He has a unique ability to produce power while raising the bat from below. There is something amazing about him. Since he has dominated the T20 format for so long, Chopra remarked, “You are commendable if you can consistently score runs despite playing risky shots.”

A question concerning the importance of Suryakumar’s innings was also posed to Chopra, considering his lackluster T20I efforts earlier this year. The former India opener said the knock would give Suryakumar a much-needed boost. He went on to say that an innings like that will help Suryakumar Yadav in the future.

His goal was to score runs. There weren’t any doubts per se because you are the captain of a successful team and you have a wealth of experience and ancestry. However, there are occasionally whispers. Chopra stated, “You are a batter first and a captain later when you hit the ground with a bat in hand.”

“One of his special talents is making the bowlers bowl where he wants them to. But it was crucial to score runs since a captain’s decision-making skills stay at their peak when he does. You can then act on instinct and stop thinking about other things. He continued, “It was crucial that the captain be seen in his Surya avatar.
