India's starting lineup is chosen by Aakash Chopra for the opening ODI in Barbados.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra thinks Ishan Kishan won’t be able to play because the team would instead show their faith in Shubman Gill, who failed to impress in the two-match Test series against the West Indies. In particular, the three-match ODI series will start on July 27, and the team management will be trying to settle on their team lineup as the ODI World Cup is scheduled to start in just over two months.

The 45-year-old is also confident that Sanju Samson at number five and Suryakumar Yadav at number four will receive support from the team management. The number four position has been in doubt ever since Shreyas Iyer’s tragic back injury, but the team management has expressed confidence in Suryakumar, who hasn’t yet had a big influence. So, for the player from Mumbai, the series may be quite significant.

“In my perspective, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma will start for India. Thoughts of Ishan Kishan may cross your mind, but you won’t play him—at least not at the top of the order. Similar to the innings he played in Trinidad’s second innings, Rohit Sharma will aim to play a similar knock. Red-ball cricket will be a distant memory for Shubman Gill.

Virat Kohli will follow at position three. A significant question is whether they will accept Ishan at age four or five. Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson will remain in positions 4 and 5, respectively, according to Chopra’s YouTube channel.

To support Umran Malik, Aakash Chopra

Shardul Thakur is not necessary in the starting XI if Hardik Pandya is bowling, according to Chopra, who also noted that. Therefore, the cricketer decided to use the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja in addition to Axar Patel. He selected Mohammed Siraj as one of his pacers and supported Umran Malik because he thinks the player will be an X-factor at the World Cup.

“Because he isn’t even on the Asian Games roster, I want to try Umran Malik. As a result, I support the Indian team’s efforts to get him into the World Cup as an X-factor bowler, Chopra said.
