Aakash Chopra congratulates Rahul Dravid on his World Cup victory

In the 2003 ODI World Cup final, Australia defeated the Indian side, which included Rahul Dravid. When India finally won the coveted trophy in 2011, Dravid was not on the team. Under his guidance, the Men in Blue had a terrible time in the 2007 ODI World Cup. As the squad’s head coach, the 51-year-old returned to the national team, but he was unsuccessful.

In the 2022 T20 World Cup, India was defeated by England in the semifinals. In the 2023 ODI World Cup and World Test Championship finals, Australia emerged victorious. Dravid had witnessed many heartaches, but after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, he was able to finally hold his first significant trophy. In addition to praising Dravid’s accomplishment, former cricket player Aakash Chopra noted that India participated in three finals when he was captain.

He continued by saying that India had won a trophy and had managed to maintain their top spot in every version of the game. Aakash Chopra expressed satisfaction with his achievements as India’s head coach and mentioned that he offered consistency and clarity of approach.

After playing for the India A team, he joined this team and continued with the under-19 squad. You have won the Asia Cup and this team has advanced to the final of the last three ICC competitions. Chopra posted on his YouTube channel, “You made it to the World T20 Cup final, the team stayed as No. 1 consistently, and you reached the ODI World Cup final.”

“excellent people have excellent things come to them. If such things occur, your heart is satisfied. Three retirements in a row has caused the team Rahul Dravid built to somewhat fall apart, but he brought stability and clarity of thought’, he continued.

The T20 World Cup marked the end of Dravid’s time with the Indian squad. Before the Sri Lanka series begins on July 27, BCCI plans to announce the team’s next head coach. VVS Laxman will lead India in their forthcoming series against Zimbabwe.
