It is doubtful that Washington Sundar will be moved to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) prior to the IPL 2026 auction, according to former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra. The spin-bowling all-rounder loved the team atmosphere and is probably going to stick with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 2025 Indian Premier League, Chopra said, albeit admitting that Sundar had little opportunities with the squad.
In the forthcoming season, CSK will be missing Ravichandran Ashwin due to his retirement from the IPL. The franchise is reportedly considering acquiring Sundar as a possible Ashwin successor.
“The possibility of Washington Sundar visiting CSK was another piece of news. “I have no such plans,” he informed Ashwin (Ravichandran). He probably won’t go, but Washi has a better chance. Washi also noted that he didn’t have enough opportunities, but he stated that he doesn’t want to leave because he like the setup and the atmosphere, Aakash Chopra said.
Washi Sundar, who is also from Chennai, will be a perfect fit in Ashwin’s stead if he leaves. The Gujarat Titans won’t abandon him that easy, though, in my opinion. That’s not happening, I don’t think,” he continued.
For KKR, Rahul can resolve a lot of issues: Aakash Chopra
According to Chopra, a possible transfer of KL Rahul to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) may assist the team overcome a number of its current problems. In exchange, he said that the Delhi Capitals (DC) might express interest in signing Rinku Singh, but he doubted that KKR would be prepared to give up one of their most reliable finishers.
There was a rumor that KL Rahul would possibly join KKR. KKR will be overjoyed. KL Rahul is an option if they are unable to acquire Sanju (Samson). He has the ability to open, captain, and keep. Getting a keeper-batter on par with Sanju or KL Rahul will solve all of their issues,” Aakash Chopra stated.
They can’t, however, assign any player to anybody. To Delhi, who will they offer? Will KKR release Rinku Singh, even if Delhi might be a little interested if they offer him? They didn’t make good use of him, but that’s a major question,” Aakash Chopra continued.
