Former cricketer Aakash Chopra recently spoke out about the growing number of players who have failed to live up to expectations after being named in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
After India’s T20 World Cup roster was announced, Chopra emphasised Shivam Dube’s performance against Punjab Kings, after the ace all-rounder got out for the second straight golden duck.
Chopra observed the odd occurrence. Since the squad announcement, players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal have also not been at their best. The former opener discussed the previous match between CSK and Punjab Kings as well as Dube’s decline in performance.

Chennai appeared to be losing momentum throughout the match, according to Chopra. Additionally, he praised all-round player Ravindra Jadeja for his tenacious batting to the very end.
“From that point on, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, whether it was Daryl Mitchell, caught by Harshal Patel, or Moeen Ali, caught by Sam Curran. Though Ravindra Jadeja persevered until the very end, Chopra observed that there was never any indication that this team was ahead in the match.
