On November 19, India and Australia squared off in the ICC World Cup 2023 final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma spoke during the pre-match press conference in Ahmedabad prior to the highly anticipated match. One of the phones that was meant to be recorded rang during Rohit Sharma’s answers to inquiries from journalists, so he responded in his typical way.

Rohit Sharma was all smiles as he gushed about his team, saying they had enough experience among themselves and could handle pressure. He also shared some insight into how his approach to hitting has changed. “The current form of players is more important than playing World Cup finals in the past,” he stated, “whenever we play such a tournament.” Two of our players from 2011 participated in the World Cup final. We are capable of managing pressure. We intend to carry on playing in the same manner as before.

“Prior to the World Cup commencing, I intended to play a particular style of cricket. I had no idea if it would succeed or fail. With limited liberty, I desired to convey my ideas. I adjusted my strategy during the England match as well, as experienced players do. I modified my strategy. I think it’s important to go there and be relaxed. As we have worked so hard for it, it will be good to do. I don’t want to become overly eager or stressed out. I’m not the only player in the changing room, says Rohit.

Mohammed Shami’s absence from the opening games, according to Rohit Sharma, was difficult.

Rohit Sharma emphasized the team’s need to make the last push while acknowledging the significance of this time in the players’ careers. The skipper emphasized the importance of the occasion and expressed sympathy for Mohammed Shami, who had to deal with missing the World Cup’s initial matches despite his outstanding performance.

In the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, India will square off against Australia once more in an attempt to get revenge for the devastating loss they suffered in the 2003 championship match. In the ODI World Cup finals back then, the Australian side captained by Ricky Ponting easily defeated India by a margin of 125 runs. India found it difficult to establish themselves during the match, making it an uneven contest.
