Virat Kohli performance in the Test series against Australia has Ravi Shastri optimistic.

When India and Australia square off in the first Test match on Thursday (9 February) in Nagpur, there will be plenty of exciting cricket to watch since both teams are working extremely hard to win the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Virat Kohli, the Indian batter who has a great record against Australia, is anticipated to start the game in the same manner. While Kohli has been in fantastic form in the white-ball format, it has been a while since he performed in the red-ball game. Ravi Shastri, a former Indian head coach, is pretty optimistic that Virat Kohli will perform better against Australia.

“Virat Kohli would be motivated by his record versus Australia. He would be fired up and eager to get things going.

Look at his first two innings, please. He would be a pain in the flesh for Australians if he gets off to a good start. They definitely won’t want it to occur, Shastri said to Star Sports.

“Against Australia, Virat Kohli average was just under 50. Amazing record, which ought to truly motivate him.

In addition, India will have to choose between Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in Shreyas’ unavailability due to injury. Ravi Shastri, though, supports Suryakumar Yadav because he needs a middle-order player who is proactive.

“Tough decision; choose the best player for that position” (No.5). One player who will take the initiative and try to spin the strike is Surya. You need to rotate the strike and avoid allowing bowlers to hit you with maidens if you want to succeed in India. Blocking is ineffective. The fate of the game could be decided in just 30 or 40 seconds. Surya can upset the opposition by making fast runs. Shastri advised India to bet on themselves to win by a two-match margin.
