The Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to take place in Pakistan for the first time in 27 years, from February 19 to March 9. The nation has a history of radical events, including a terrorist attack on a Sri Lankan squad that was on tour in 2009. An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation will visit Pakistan before to the major event to observe event preparations.

The Champions Trophy was last played in 2017, with Pakistan winning the coveted title after defeating India handily in the championship match. The ICC delegation will go over all the important details, such as the tournament schedule, practice matches, venues, and ticketing, as the reigning champions get ready to welcome the world.

Prior to the international event, Pakistan will tour Australia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe after hosting England for a Test series.

A source was quoted as saying to India Today, “We are hopeful that the schedule and ticket details will be announced right after the ICC delegation’s visit.” “The process has already been delayed, so we expect ICC to make the announcement soon.”

Due to ongoing construction at Karachi Stadium, the Test from that site had to be rescheduled, demonstrating the lack of preparation during the recently finished Bangladesh series. To ensure that the locations are prepared for matches, the ICC delegation will tour Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and National Stadium in Karachi.

It is noteworthy that Rs 12.80 billion had been set aside by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for stadium renovations. Within the next two days, the apex council and the PCB will settle the tournament schedule, according to reports from The Nation. In the meantime, the teams’ and groups’ rosters are already public.
