Reports: Yudhvir Singh Charak and Himanshu Singh will be attending the Bangladesh series camp with India

It has been claimed that teenage spinner Himanshu Singh of Mumbai and pacer Yudhvir Singh Charak of the Lucknow Super Giants have been invited to attend the India camp in Chennai on September 12. Both of them will probably be the net bowlers and train with the senior Indian team ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Interestingly, Yudhvir can tonk enormous sixes lower down the order and click over 140 kmph. In just three IPL 2023 games, he claimed three wickets at an economy of 8.75 while playing for LSG. He only participated in two games and took one wicket in 2024.

At the LSG camp, he played a season alongside the current head coach of India, Gautam Gambhir. That could have contributed to receiving a call-up to play net bowling.

A source close to Yudhvir Singh has now confirmed the development and described it as a first step towards joining the national team.

“He was requested to report to Chennai on September 12th after receiving a call yesterday. It’s fantastic news for him—a stepping stone to join the Indian team—according to a close friend of Yudhvir.

Himanshu, on the other hand, has not yet made his senior men’s team debut for Mumbai. But he’s performed brilliantly in age-group cricket, which has earned him a call-up. According to a person close to Himanshu, Ajit Agarkar, the BCCI top selector, had been following the Akola native’s development for some time and was impressed.

“India’s head selector, Ajit Agarkar, along with his fellow selectors have been following Himanshu’s development and have been impressed with him for some time. He is six feet four inches tall and moves like Ashwin, according to a source quoted by The Times of India.
