According to Adam Gilchrist, Australia has a great chance of winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Adam Gilchrist thinks that the current Australia team, more than any other Australian team since 2004, is more prepared to defeat India at home.
The Border Gavaskar Trophy’s first Test is now being fully prepared for. Australia and Team India will face off on February 9 in Nagpur. Adam Gilchrist, a former great of Australia, gave his assessment of Australia’s chances in the series as the two teams prepared for the crucial Test series.

The 51-year-old is confident that the current Australian squad will defeat India and take home the Border Gavaskar Trophy better than any Australian team since 2004. Even though it would be challenging, Australia is currently the best Test team, thus the forthcoming series between India and the No. 2 team in the world will be interesting to watch.

“Although it won’t be simple or a stroll in the park, I anticipate them to do exceptionally well because this is their best chance. It’s crucial to consider the squad’s composition and current level of experience “The West Australian cited Gilchrist’s statement.

Given that Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will not play in the opening Test, the Australian selection committee is grappling with a number of problems. Gilchrist, however, is optimistic that Australia’s recent trips to the subcontinent will help them prepare for their matches against India despite all the worries.

“They’ve been on several tours to subcontinental nations, which has given them experience and knowledge that kept us from moving forward in 2004. Due of the great and negative experiences we had earlier in the subcontinent, we were very well organised and prepared. This set of players has developed their knowledge and skill base, therefore they have a great chance of succeeding ” Adam Gilchrist later on.

Australia’s 2022 World Test Championship tour included stops in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In their two Test matches against Sri Lanka, they managed to draw 1-1 and scrape out a slim 1-0 series victory over Pakistan.
Going into the series, Team India will be without Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant, which might leave them exposed and give Australia the advantage. But when the series begins on Thursday, the hosts will be aiming to win the Test series for the fourth consecutive time
