Mohsin Naqvi PCB chief the England series will take place in Pakistan

Owing to the ongoing renovations at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the National Stadium in Karachi, and the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in preparation for Pakistan’s hosting of the Champions Trophy next year, there have been rumours circulating that the Pakistan-England series will take place in the United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka.

However, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board, dispelled the persistent rumours about it after he made it clear that Rawalpindi and Multan will be hosting the Test series.

“Rawalpindi and Multan will host the home Test series against England. Cricket Pakistan cited Naqvi as saying, “We are in contact with the England board and they are satisfied.”

Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy; Mohsin Naqvi, the BCCI Secretary, has been contacted.

Additionally, Naqvi stated that the ninth Champions Trophy edition will take place in Pakistan, despite rumours to the contrary and much speculation about India’s possible participation in the competition.

We have communicated with the BCCI Secretary over the upcoming Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Naqvi continued, “[We] also communicate with the boards of the teams that are competing for the Champions Trophy.

For those who are unaware, Pakistan has not hosted an International Cricket Council event since co-hosting the 1996 World Cup with its neighbours, India and Sri Lanka. That will change with the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Regarding Pakistan’s upcoming cricket schedule, they will need to wait until October to show any kind of improvement over their performance against Bangladesh in their recently concluded two-match Test series.

In that series, Pakistan was convincingly outclassed and their winless run at home against red-ball cricket was extended to ten matches.
