Babar Azam's shortcomings  in red-ball cricket are analysed by Kamran Akmal as "he is unsure of himself."

After Pakistan lost 0-2 at home to Bangladesh in the two-match Test series, Babar Azam is leading the criticism Kamran Akmal is the latest former cricketer to criticise Babar and Pakistan following their loss to Bangladesh. Averaging 16, the former Pakistan Test captain scored 64 runs in four innings. Akmal cited technical faults that prevented Babar from scoring a half-century in his last 16 red-ball innings. “He seems unsure of himself and his off-stump early on and leaves his leg stump exposed.

India Today cited Kamran Akmal as saying that balls that should be played towards cover are played straight and the bat doesn’t move.

Former Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter questioned the PCB selection committee’s decision to leave out spinners Yasir Shah, Noman Ali, and Sajid Khan, who had performed well for the national side.

“We cannot win a home series without spinners. Was Yasir Shah to blame? What went wrong with Sajid Khan? Each has taken five wickets but is out of the team, he complained.

The cricketer-turned-expert also criticised Pakistani players for prioritising franchise leagues above international duty. Akmal advised sportsmen to balance earning money and improving their skills while representing the nation.

“They prefer to play in useless foreign leagues to make money, which is not helping them develop. “As a professional, you must balance your schedule and improve as a player for your country,” he said.
