Because other professionals are involved as well, I don't think it's a challineing role. Virender Sehwag on India head coach position

In a recent conversation, former Indian cricket player Virender Sehwag shared his thoughts on the head coach position. According to Sehwag, the task was not as difficult as it could have appeared from the outside. In addition, he offered a convincing argument for why, in contrast to Gambhir, the players would be responsible for much more of the load.

Gautam Gambhir, a former cricket player from India, took over as head coach of the Indian squad approximately two months ago, replacing Rahul Dravid. The World Cup-winning southpaw’s tenure has started unevenly for India, who are having conflicting results while touring Sri Lanka. India lost the ODI series 0–2, outperforming their opponents while the islanders were humiliated by a strong Indian T20I team.

Given that there are other professionals participating, I don’t believe this to be a particularly difficult task. The players are aware of their responsibilities as the team just won the T20 World Cup. Gamhir’s arrival will provide gamers with clarity. That will be an extra benefit. Players will face more obstacles than Gambhir since they now feel pressure to win the World Cup, the Champions Trophy, or the WTC final following the T20 World Cup. Naturally, though, Gambhir is here to support them all,” Sehwag said in an Amar Ujala interview.

I can accept a coaching or mentoring position if one becomes available in the IPL: Virender Sehwag

The former cricket player turned commentator went on to discuss his refusal to take on a coaching position with the Indian side and acknowledged that he would be more than willing to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“I won’t be coaching the Indian cricket team, but I will definitely take a look at a coaching possibility if it arises during the IPL. I would have to go back to the same routine that I endured for fifteen years if I were to become the head coach of India. You must travel for eight to nine months out of the year in order to play for the Indian squad. My biggest task as the head coach of India would be to avoid my kids. I won’t be able to spend time with my kids. However, I can accept a coaching or mentoring position if one becomes available in the IPL,” Sehwag said.

After playing for the team in 2014 and 2015, Sehwag served as the Kings XI Punjab (now the Punjab Kings)’ coach from 2016 to 2018. By the way, throughout their combined 153 innings at bat in all formats for India, Sehwag and Gambhir amassed a total of 7,199 runs.
