In the current second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, the hosts’ captain, Shan Masood, made yet another error by failing to make an easy catch. On a miserable day with several misfields, not even Masood was able to prevent himself from becoming a victim of it.
Notably, Bangladesh’s first innings was 75 overs when the incident occurred. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the batter, attempted to divert the ball, but ultimately gave Masood a fairly simple catching opportunity. The captain of Pakistan, though, was unable to make the catch. When he was dropped during that stretch of the Test match, Miraz was batting with a total of 12 runs in 46 deliveries.
Pakistan ultimately paid a high price for this, as the all-round player for the Bangla Tigers finished his innings with 78 runs from 124 deliveries. Speaking about the match, Bangladesh began the innings with Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan scoring 10 and 1 runs, respectively, after Pakistan managed to score 274 runs in the first innings. After Najmul Hossain Shanto was out for four runs, Mominul Haque managed just one run, while Mushfiqur Rahim scored three and Shakib Al Hasan added two, the side’s top order collapsed.

In the second Test, Litton Das’ century puts Bangladesh ahead of Pakistan.
Along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who scored an important 78 runs, wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das stabilised Bangladesh’s innings just when things appeared to be getting out of hand. Das made 138 runs in 228 deliveries. Bangladesh managed to reduce their lead as much as possible by scoring a total of 262 runs in the first innings. Regarding Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad, who claimed the most wickets with six in the opening innings, provided much-needed relief to captain Shan Masood.

Additionally, Mir Hamza and Salman Agha each claimed two wickets. Pakistan finished the day having batted for nine runs but having lost two early wickets. Khurram Shahzad and Abdullah Shafique left the pitch with three runs each. Pakistan hopes to set a high target for Bangladesh to chase after taking a 21-run lead.
