Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh, recently came out and attacked former India captain MS Dhoni for supposedly ruining Yuvraj’s career. Yograj Singh has always been spotted disparaging Dhoni, so his remarks are not really new.
It’s important to remember that Yuvraj Singh was instrumental in the Indian team’s victories in both the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2007 T20 World Cup while captaining the team under MS Dhoni.
But Yograj Singh came forward, saying he would never forget Dhoni for ruining Yuvraj’s career and accusing him of doing so. He further said that Dhoni’s actions had destroyed Yuvraj’s life and that his son ought to receive the Bharat Ratna for playing cricket while afflicted with cancer.
“I’m not going to forgive MS Dhoni. He ought to face himself in the mirror. Even if he is a very good cricket player, everything that he did to harm my son is now coming to light and can never be forgiven. Yograj Singh stated to Zed Switch, “I have never hugged my family or my kids, and I have never forgiven anybody who has done me wrong in my life. These are the two things I have never done in my life.”
“My son could have played for four or five more years, but that man (MS Dhoni) has destroyed his life.” I challenge all of you to have a son who looks like Yuvraj. There won’t be another Yuvraj Singh, as even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have previously stated. For playing with cancer and leading his team to victory in the World Cup, India ought to bestow upon him the Bharat Ratna,” he continued.
Yuvraj Singh had a successful career with India; a movie of his life is currently being developed.
Yuvraj Singh, who played 402 international matches between 2000 and 2017, amassed 11,178 runs, hit 17 hundreds and 71 fifties in all formats, and concluded his career as one of India’s all-time greats.
