BCCI AGM scheduled in Bengaluru on September 29, secretary election not on agenda

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Jay Shah, a former secretary of the BCCI, as its chairman. Shah is one of the few Indians to hold the position of chairman, having been unanimously elected to the role. The 35-year-old is making waves in the media, thus speculation about his wealth is a popular subject.

“I want to give you my word that I will stop at nothing to raise the bar for our game everywhere. Shah said in a statement released by the BCCI, “As I take on this important responsibility, I am firmly dedicated to living up to your high standards and dedicating myself to the beautiful game of cricket.

The former secretary of the world’s wealthiest cricket board, according to Times Now, has a net worth of INR 124 crore. Jay Shah will take over as chairman on December 1, 2024, succeeding Greg Barclay.

The veteran was a director at Temple Enterprise, an import and export business that deals in agricultural goods, in addition to his income from cricket. He also has a 60% share in Kusum Finserve, the story continues. It is worth noting that the BCCI officials receive a daily stipend instead of a monthly wage. The costs for meetings that take place abroad could range from 40,000 to 80,000 rupees per day.

In the meantime, history is being made with the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Shah, who now holds the coveted job at the ICC, would be looking to ignite the passion for the sport back in India and to reap more benefits for it abroad.

“We’re on the verge of a revolution in cricket history, as the sport is set to make its Olympic debut in 2028. Not only is this a turning point, but it’s a wake-up call for all of us who participate in this amazing sport. He went on, “It is an honour for me to be the ICC’s leader at this exciting time in our shared path.
