Kenya's new head coach is Dodda Ganesh, a former cricket player for India

August 13 saw the arrival of Dodda Ganesh, a former cricket player from India, as Head Coach of the Sikh Union Club in Kenya. With 29 runs and six wickets in his short international career, the former Karnataka batsman represented India in four Tests and one ODI. However, the former pacer shone for Karnataka in the local circuit, amassing 493 wickets and 2,548 runs in 193 First Class games, including List A contests.

After Lamech Onyango steps down, Dodda Ganesh will lead Onyango, Joseph Angara, and Joseph Asichi to the Kenyan coaching staff.

Starting in September, the seasoned coach will lead the ICC Division 2 Challenge League before moving on to manage the T20 World Cup Qualifiers in October. It’s important to remember that Kenya will compete in the Challenge League against Qatar, Denmark, Jersey, and Papua New Guinea.

“My goal is to make it to the World Cup. I’ve observed how committed and diligent the players are. I genuinely think Kenyans have the spirit of champions, but I’m not interested in the past. I’ve been observing Kenyan cricket matches on YouTube, and I’m amazed with the level of skill displayed. Ganesh told 777 Score, “It’s obvious that the players are in fantastic shape.

Kenya is looking to rebound, applying lessons from the past.

In 2014, Kenya’s performance in white-ball cricket was so poor that they lost their ODI status since they were unable to place in the top four of the Cricket World Cup qualifier. In addition to competing in five straight World Cups from 1996 to 2011, the team also took part in three Champions Trophy tournaments from 2000 to 2004.

Regarding their T20 World Cup participation, they participated in the first one in 2007 but have not qualified for the competition since.
