In the current In The Hundred Women 2024, England women’s player Grace Scrivens was struck in the face by a cricket ball as she attempted to make a catch, resulting in a terrible injury. The event happened at Trent Bridge during a match between London Spirit and Trent Rocket.
In addition to helping the Rockets win with a 55-run total, the 20-year-old also sustained a black eye and a bruise on her cheek from dropping the catch.

But before Scrivens could get the ball out of her hands and onto her face, the physio took her off the pitch swiftly. After the victory, the bruise on Scrivens’ face appeared much larger as she returned to the pitch to congratulate her Rockets teammates, looking shocked as she did so.
The women of Trent Rockets keep London Spirit to a meh total.
Regarding the match between the two teams, Trent Rockets was put to bat first to get things off. Bryony Smith and Scrivens scored 34 and 55 runs in the team’s opening frame, respectively. Nat Sciver-Brunt also scored 21 runs off of 12 deliveries.
In addition, Heather Graham recorded a perfect 22 runs, helping the Rockets collect 158 runs in the opening frame. Deepti Sharma took two wickets for the Spirit women, while Sarah Glenn scored one run.
Georgia Redmayne and Meg Lanning opened for London Spirit, who were trying to chase down the goal. They scored three and twenty-three runs, respectively. In addition, Heather Knight scored 29 runs, and Deepti Sharma contributed 30* more runs to the tally. But Spirit was unable to withstand the Rockets’ strong bowling attack.

The only Rockets women wicket scorers with three wickets apiece were Ashleigh Gardner and Alana King. In a 159-run chase, Spirit managed to score 127 runs, but ultimately lost by 31 runs.
