Pakistan's entry in Bangladesh for the Test series is unclear due to a nationwide curfew

In a recent development, the team’s preparations for the next two-match Test series against Pakistan have been impeded by the ongoing political upheaval in Bangladesh. An indefinite statewide curfew has been implemented in an attempt to lessen the number of casualties and control the ferocity of the opposing factions. Because of this, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials are unsure of when the team will be able to get together for another practise session.

Head coach Chandika Hathurusingha will oversee Bangladesh’s technical training session, which is scheduled to begin on Sunday at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium.

“There is a curfew in place for an extended amount of time, so we are unsure of when we can continue the practice. Our administration is handling the situation, and once they brief us on the current state of affairs, we can better grasp it,” a BCB representative told.

A BCB official has stated that the Bangladesh A team’s scheduled tour of Pakistan is still going to happen.

They did, however, acknowledge that they could not guarantee the tour’s certainty given the current situation. The ‘A’ team is now on tour, but given the current political climate, it is impossible to make any firm predictions. However, we are optimistic that they will be able to take off on the planned day,” the BCB representative stated.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, and Shahadat Hossain are the other players that have been called up to the Bangladesh A team for their next four-day match against the Pakistan Shaheens. The purpose of this visit is to act as a warm-up for the upcoming two-match Test series.

The Bangladesh A team is expected to go on August 6 and play three fifty-over matches and two four-day matches in Islamabad against the Shaheens from August 10 to August 27. After these matches are over, they are anticipated to return to Bangladesh.
