PCB will put the Pakistani players through a battery of tough fitness tests prior to the unpredictable Bangladesh series

The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has received recommendations from both of Pakistan’s foreign head coaches, Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie, asking them to hold off on disciplining players so they may focus on the impending international season.

Reports state that the PCB had previously discussed establishing a disciplinary body to deal with player misbehaviour during tours to England, Ireland, and the T20 World Cup.

But according to the board’s charter, no such committee has yet been formed, according to the same source. To deal with such matters, the PCB chairman is required under the constitution to form independent disciplinary bodies.

Recently, Mohsin Naqvi met with selectors Muhammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq as well as Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie. The topic of concentrating on the players’ upcoming performances came up during the talks.

In addition, it is anticipated that only the players who have performed poorly would be benched for the next international season. Both head coaches will personally oversee player workload management and confer with the captains.

Pakistani and Bangladesh will play a series of tests.

In reference to Pakistan’s next assignments, the team will play two Test matches against a visiting Bangladeshi team. The first Test between the two teams will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on August 21.

In addition, the National Stadium in Karachi will host the second Test starting on August 30. The Men in Green will be looking to make up for their terrible showing in the T20 World Cup 2024 by performing well in the longest format. The teams’ goals will be to maintain their form and win both Tests.

The team’s Test responsibilities will resume with a three-game Test series against England following the Bangladesh series. The Ben Stokes-led team might present a formidable challenge for the team as the first Test gets underway in Multan on October 7.
