One young Bangladeshi star that has excelled in the Tests is Zakir Hasan. In his first match against India, the wicketkeeper-batter amassed a century and then a half-century in the same series. Hasan declined to take a chapter out of Test legend Cheteshwar Pujara‘s book as Bangladesh prepares for a two-Test tour of India in September, acknowledging the latter’s difficult job.
In Test cricket, Pujara was an unexpected revelation for India since, from the beginning of his career, the right-handed batter could deplete the opposition. He hasn’t been playing for the Indian squad lately because younger players are preferred, but in the red-ball format, he has a long list of game-saving knocks. As he explained the Indian team’s need on the veteran to bat for a lot of kilometres, Hasan came across as a devoted supporter.
“Of course it’s possible. However, in my opinion, that relies on how strong your team is as a whole and what your team’s overarching plan is. What I observed is that the members of the Indian team who play Test matches have a very different function. Hasan, cited by, stated, “Pujara is the only player with that ability, and the entire team trusts his ability to play for a long time and tire the bowlers.”
However, seeing our team, we are also capable of adjusting in that manner. To that end, he said, “If you see me playing a big innings, then I need some time, so I try to take as much time as I need to build my innings. But if you ask about myself, all I can say is that I am not used to playing like Pujara.”

On October 13, Pujara made his final appearance for India in the World Test Championship 2023 Final matchup against Australia. In the first inning, he scored 14, and in the second, 27. After signing with Sussex in 2022, he entered his county tenure without a spot on the Indian team.

Pujara has participated in eighteen County Championship games, averaging 64.24 and scored 1863 runs. In his illustrious First Class career, he has amassed 65 hundreds, including 10 centuries for the team.
