Watch: The Bangalore-based BCCI releases images of the recently constructed, cutting-edge National Cricket Academy

The wait is now over as the Board of Control for Cricket in India has been working for some time to construct a state-of-the-art National Cricket Academy.

The most recent update came from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who posted some recent images of a nearly finished, newly constructed NCA facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The most recent facility is significantly superior to the current one, which is also in Bengaluru and close to the well-known M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was imperative to build a larger, better facility because the old facility was incapable of handling the cricket players’ present workload. As anticipated, the wealthiest cricket board has now provided the necessary resources.

The world-class sporting amenities at the new NCA are abundant and include three grounds, 45 practice pitches and indoor cricket pitches. In addition to training, recuperation, and sports science facilities, the new NCA features an Olympic-sized swimming pool that aids in the recovery of cricket players and helps them stay match-ready ahead of important cricket seasons.

Former cricketer VVS Laxman of India is presently leading the NCA, but his time is about to end. Citing personal and family considerations, the seasoned cricket player has already expressed his disinterest in holding the job going forward. Consequently, the BCCI is planning to start looking for a new chief.

The board secretary discussed how the BCCI’s most recent infrastructure improvements will improve the organization’s reputation for turning out elite cricket players. Notably, admission to the NCA will be available to both existing and prospective members of the national team.

“Very excited to announce that the @BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru,” Shah said as the caption for his X post. Three championship playing fields, forty-five practice pitches, indoor cricket grounds, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and cutting-edge facilities for sports science, rehabilitation and training will all be present at the new NCA.
