BCB is allowed to bring its security consultant for the Test series by PCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was given permission to send out their own security specialists for their team’s upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan later this month, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed. The BCB is welcome to bring its own security expert, but the PCB has confirmed that it will not be able to supply a team security manager.

A PCB spokesman clarified that, like media managers or team doctors, security managers or consultants are now regarded as essential members of the support personnel. The statement added that teams have frequently travelled with security managers for occasions like the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and other bilateral series. The representative underlined that the BCB has the final say over whether or not to hire a security consultant for the next Test series and mentioned that the BCB has not yet informed the PCB of any security concerns.

Security managers and consultants are now regarded as members of the player support staff, in the same way as a team physician or media manager. Teams have even flown with security managers to bilateral series like the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It is the BCB’s prerogative to include a security expert in the management of their touring team for the next Test series. However, the BCB has not yet raised any security concerns with the PCB, according to a PCB spokeswoman that Cricbuzz cited.

PCB shared security strategy with BCB in accordance with international norms: PCB spokeswoman

Additionally, the representative stated that in accordance with global guidelines, the PCB had already distributed the security strategy and the Memorandum of Understanding to the BCB the previous month and had not received any questions or requests for more information. Furthermore, he said that although the PCB will supply personal security guards as part of its state-level security plans, it was unable to supply a specialised team security manager, much like other nations.

“In actuality, the PCB provided the MoU and security plan to the BCB last month in accordance with international standard, and the BCB did not receive any further requests or questions. As part of state-level security, the PCB will supply close protection officers; however, the spokesperson stated that, like any other nation, the PCB is unable to supply team security managers.
