At a net session in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the renowned Indian cricket players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma recently got to know a little fan. The forthcoming three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has the two players preparing for it.
The little child was carrying the T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy, the national tricolour, and the famous picture of captain Rohit and player Virat.
The Delhi hitter approached the child, signed his book, and then posed for a photo. When Rohit met the child, he also posed for a picture. Cricket aficionados have showered the heartfelt video with love and respect.

India’s three ODI matches against Sri Lanka are slated on August 2, 4, and 7 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Rohit and Kohli are expected to play their first ODI since the 2023 World Cup final. When supporters saw their names included in the 15-man roster, they were overjoyed. Earlier reports had claimed that Rohit and Kohli would skip the series.
After Australia’s heartbreaking loss in the World Cup final last year, this will be the first time the two batting greats take the pitch for an ODI match. Both Rohit and Kohli will be making their international comebacks in the ODI series against Sri Lanka; their previous appearance was on June 29 in the T20 World Cup final. After winning the title match, they both declared their retirement from Twenty20 cricket. India has since participated in eight T20Is and won seven of them.

Throughout the ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit and Kohli exhibited outstanding batsmanship. With an average of 95.62, the latter finished as the top run scorer, amassing a record 765 runs from 11 innings. At an average of 54.27, Rohit’s 597 runs from 11 innings made him the second-highest run scorer of the competition. In the 50-over format, they’ll want to pick up where they left off.
